2088 is a 2D top-down shooter set in the future. The player controls a gunman and starts in the center of the screen. He must catch green things and destroy enemies, such as saucers, exploding pods and space snakes. The game takes place in small arenas. Outside the arena is a laser beam that the player must avoid. Once outside the arena, players board their spaceships and fly through a meteor field.
