2112 is a video game in the adventure genre originally released in 1994. It is currently playable on DOS.

112 is a simple text adventure that places you in a theocratic, communist, computer-driven dystopia and challenges you to improve your lot and the fate of your world through individualism. Based on Rush's 1976 concept rock album of the same name.



It is the year twenty-one twelve. All aspects of life are strictly controlled by the State. The State is controlled by the Priests. The Priests reside in the Temple of Syrinx, where the Great Ordainers dictate the plans of the world. You are a single citizen in this almost perfectly communist society. Everyone has their place in society. Non-compliance is forbidden. Things like art and music are strictly forbidden. All actions and thoughts are the product of the state. The reason the world is the way it is is because of the major non-conforming race of man, which destroyed itself long ago.

Because the Priests are in total command, any discovery must be brought to them at once. Failure to comply with this law is punishable by death. Also, since all members of the state are obligated to support the state, do not tell ANYONE about any illegal or newly discovered items. They will turn you over to the state as soon as possible.
