A Matter of Time

A Matter of Time is a video game in the adventure genre and published by Laser Point Publishing originally released in 1995. It is currently playable on DOS.

In A Matter of Time, the player takes the role of Jonathan Stone, who is the assistant to Dr. Joseph Adams. Adams is competing with Dr. Karl Evers for government funding for a time travel machine. Shortly before the deadline, Evers is murdered, Adams becomes the prime suspect and suddenly disappears. It turns out that he used his time machine to find proof of God's existence. Stone's adventure begins when he too uses the machine and finds himself in the time of the dinosaurs. . .

This is an interactive fiction game with graphics, although these are loaded and displayed separately from the text interface. They usually appear when Stone enters a new location or uses the 'look' command. The player interacts with the game by typing commands, e. g. 'take the box', which are interpreted by the parser and followed by a text response. The game is spent exploring the environment, collecting objects and solving puzzles.
