Adventure in the Magic Land

Adventure in the Magic Land is a video game in the adventure genre developed by K. Shelton Software originally released in 1989. It is currently playable on DOS.

Adventure in the Magic Land is a donationware type interactive fiction game. The player is placed in a fantasy setting (although there are some references to modern times, such as a computer or a spaceship) without a specific goal. The first course of action consists of exploring the environment and figuring out what to do. Later, the player must solve inventory puzzles to win the game. The locations are arranged on an 8x8 grid and include instant death locations, but later the player gains the ability to fly, which allows him to enter the grids without taking damage. The initial location is random.

The description of the location in question always remains at the top of the screen. The player interacts with the game by entering verb and noun combinations that may or may not result in a useful answer. Upon entering another location, the entire screen is updated and a list of interactive objects is displayed. A text file with a map and hints is distributed with the game.

It is possible that we have multiple downloads available when different versions exist.
