Airline

Airline is a video game in the strategy genre and published by Ariolasoft GmbH originally released in 1986. It is currently playable on Commodore 64, Atari 8-bit.

Airline is a multiplayer strategy game for two to four players. Each player takes control of a company Airline and tries to be the first to score 100 points. These points are not only earned by accumulating money, but also by other factors such as customer satisfaction. The basic procedure: in each turn, which represents one month, players have two minutes to make all menu decisions. The only exceptions are the result (shows the player's score) and the maintenance menus, which can be chosen even after the time has run out. Once all players have finished, the computer calculates the consequences showing the profitability of each flight along with the overall financial balance. Flights can also be cancelled due to random events, e. g. strikes or winter. Then the next round begins.

The whole game is menu-driven and the most important things to plan are the flight routes of the owned aircraft. This includes the planning of personnel and service assets. Of course, players can also buy or sell aircraft, set prices and transport cargo.
