Alien Force puts you in control of a spaceship on a mission to destroy all enemy ships. Destroy all the ships in a level and you will move on to the next level with more difficult enemies. The action is shown from top to bottom, and you move on a single screen field with obstacles. You can only fire one missile at a time, so the game is not about shooting non-stop.
In the early levels, the enemy ships are easy; they don't even shoot at you. As you advance through the levels, the ships become more difficult and start shooting at you.
