Alien Storm

Alien Storm is a video game in the action genre developed by Team Shinobi and published by SEGA of America, Inc. originally released in 1991. It is currently playable on Genesis.

Aliens are invading Earth, and it's up to the 'Alien Busters' to take them down and destroy their creator. The Busters consist of Karla, Gordon and Scooter. Each of them has their own weapons and special attacks.

When you start the game, you can select any of these characters to play. There are six missions to complete (eight in the Genesis version) with various stages, and in each of them you'll have to blast the aliens all the way from the streets to the mothership, where you'll encounter the mother of all aliens. Unfortunately, it won't be an easy task to destroy these aliens, as they become tougher in each mission, and are able to hide in objects such as plants, mailboxes, garbage cans, drums and others. Each mission has an objective, such as rescuing people by destroying a UFO.

When you face a few aliens, flying heads will appear that you can shoot at to collect life or energy (by the way, life is important to you, because if yours is empty, you're dead). However, instead of using normal weapons, you can use special attacks that are enough to kill the aliens you see at that moment. These attack types vary depending on the character you choose at the beginning of the game. For example, Gordon summons a U.S. Air Force jet that drops bombs across the street, while Scooter is able to teleport away from his current location, and drop a series of bombs that will explode the aliens in sight, then reappear. However, using your character's special attack consumes a lot of energy, and if you have little or none, you can't use it.

At the end of some missions there is an alien boss, which you must destroy to complete the mission. Also, at the end of each one, you have to enter buildings where you participate in a shooting gallery. The goal is to kill the aliens that appear from various locations with the building.

You can play Alien Storm alone, or with another person.
