Description Armour Force

Armour Force places the player behind the controls of a heavily armed combat vehicle in a series of hostile battle zones. The action is viewed from above, giving a clear picture of the terrain, enemy positions, and routes between objectives. Each area is built as a compact battlefield of roads, open ground, barriers, and defensive installations. Movement is continuous rather than turn-based, so careful positioning is essential when approaching enemy units or entering narrow passages.

The armoured vehicle is equipped with a forward-firing cannon capable of destroying opposing tanks, gun emplacements, and other targets. Shots travel across the battlefield until they strike an obstacle or enemy, while the player must keep moving to avoid return fire. Terrain plays an important part in combat: walls and structures can provide temporary protection, but they can also restrict movement and leave the vehicle exposed when it is forced into the open. Success depends on choosing a safe approach, lining up attacks, and clearing a route before advancing.

Enemy forces are distributed throughout each stage, creating a steady series of encounters rather than a single battle at the end of a level. Hostile vehicles patrol or occupy defensive positions, and their attacks can quickly damage the player’s machine if ignored. The screen demands constant attention, since threats may approach from several directions while the player is concentrating on a distant target. Destroying opposition opens the battlefield and allows progress toward the next section, with later stages demanding greater accuracy and more decisive movement.

The visual presentation is deliberately functional, using the Mega Duck’s limited monochrome display to distinguish the tank, opponents, obstacles, and open ground. Bold sprites and strongly patterned scenery keep important objects visible during movement, while the overhead viewpoint makes the layout easy to read. Explosions and impact effects provide brief flashes of activity against the otherwise stark battlefield, giving each successful hit a clear visual response. The restricted palette suits the military setting, producing a hard, utilitarian appearance rather than a decorative one.

Audio supports the action with short electronic effects for cannon fire, collisions, explosions, and damage. The sound is sparse, leaving the mechanical reports of combat to punctuate the movement across each stage. Armour Force is built around direct control and immediate decisions: advance, fire, evade, and attack again before the enemy can respond. Its compact battlefields and uncomplicated objective make it easy to begin, while the limited protection offered by the terrain gives every encounter a measure of tension. Each completed section is earned through alert movement and accurate shooting rather than by brute force alone.
