You play as Arnie, a one-man army in this isometric multi-scrolling game in which the screen scrolls as you move. Your mission after being dropped by a helicopter is to infiltrate the enemy base and make your way through the entire compound killing as many soldiers and destroying as many vehicles as you can. The route you take is premeditated with objects that keep you on a fixed path to follow such as walls, bridges and wire fences.
You must avoid and shoot enemy soldiers who are armed with a machine gun or rocket launcher and if you touch them or get shot you lose one of three lives. Occasionally a red soldier will appear on the screen and if you shoot him he will drop a better weapon, such as an M60 machine gun, RPG7 rocket launcher and FT25 flamethrower, but his ammunition is limited. Vehicles also appear and these include tanks, armored vehicles and helicopters and again, if they are touched or shot at, you lose a life.
