Bass Masters Classic

Bass Masters Classic is a video game in the simulation genre developed by Black Pearl Software and published by Black Pearl Software originally released in 1995. It is currently playable on Genesis.

This game consists of five 3-day tournaments on four lakes. The mission is to catch as many large bass as possible. After the day's fishing tournament is over, the five largest bass caught are weighed and compared to the catches of the other anglers. The one with the heaviest catch is the winner.

The player begins by choosing an angler. Next, the player can go to the bait store, the practice pond or start in the tournament. In the bait store, baits, lines, rods, reels, fish finders and boat motors can be purchased. The practice pond mode is the place where the player can familiarize himself with the game mechanics without consequences.

Tournament mode is the main part of the game. Players start on a fishing boat. Some of the factors that can affect fishing are temperature, wind speed, water clarity and time of day. After casting the line, the game switches from a view above the lake to a side view of the depth of the lake water. The player must then lure the fish with the bait and, once the fish is caught on the hook, retrieve it.
