Big Bird's Egg Catch is a video game in the strategy genre developed by Atari, Inc. and published by Atari, Inc. originally released in 1983. It is currently playable on Atari 2600.
Big Bird wants to win the county fair egg contest, help him.
The top hen lays the egg and it goes down the chute. You must get Big Bird down the correct chute to get the egg.
Game 1 is for one player. Games 2 to 10 are for one or two players. All games have two rounds.
Game 1 is a practice round; there are two chickens and a straight parachute; move Big Bird left or right and he will dive under the parachute.
The second and third games have three or four parachutes and the game gets faster after the second round. In the second game the chute is straight and in the third game it is zigzag. Big Bird keeps diving under the chute.
Games 4, 5 and 6 are three rounds. Eleven white eggs and one golden egg are dropped. Game 4 starts with two zigzag shots in the first round and four shots in the second round. Game 5 will start with 2 shots in the first round and 4 cross shots in the second round. Game 6 will have 4 cross shots in both rounds. The large birds no longer dive under the parachutes, but must be placed in the correct position.
In game 7, 11 white eggs and 1 golden egg fall in each round with no limit. There are five broken eggs in the bottom left corner, and the round will continue until there are no more broken eggs left to fail. Catching a golden egg adds one more broken egg to your score.
The eighth game is the same as the seventh game, but you cannot see the eggs in the chute, only the eggs coming out of the bottom.
Games 9 and 10 are the same as game 7, but the parachute shrinks in the direction of the chicken. This means you have to remember which parachute each hen comes out on. In game 9, the shots are all the same in each round. In game 10, the pattern changes in each round.
A white egg is worth one point and a golden egg is worth five points.
