Description Biggles

WE Johns' tales of a brave World War I pilot were updated for a 1980s feature film, with a plot involving Jim, the brother of Biggles living in that era. Jim travels back in time to warn Biggles of a spectacular weapon the Germans have created, with the intention of changing history, for the worse.

The game is divided into two distinct games, the first of which is further divided into three sub-games. The first of these is a side-view flying game, in which you must shoot down and dodge Fokkers coming at you from the right of the screen in your rickety plane, with a machine gun and bombs on board. The second part is set in present-day London, and the characters must jump across a network of rooftops to obtain a secret code. There are guards to avoid, and large gaps between rooftops to negotiate. The third part is a Green Beret-inspired side-view game, with a gun to shoot at approaching enemies, gameplay on multiple vertical levels, and grenades to collect. If you lose a life in any of them, you'll run through them again.

The second game, however, is a more serious flight simulation. A helicopter is transported back in time for our intrepid hero to use. You must first go to the allied camp to get the location of the secret weapon (and for this you will need the password from the first part of the game), and then head there to destroy it and save the world.
