Bob Morane: Chevalerie 1

Bob Morane: Chevalerie 1 is a video game in the action genre developed by Infogrames Multimedia SA and published by Infogrames Multimedia SA originally released in 1987. It is currently playable on DOS, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64.

The protagonist of the adventure novel Bob Morane, an agent of the Time Patrol, is transported back in time to a 13th century castle. His objective: to save the Holy Shroud - the cloth that gathered the body of Christ when he descended from the Cross - from being captured by his archenemy, the Yellow Shadow, who intends to become pope and pervert the course of history.

The game plays similarly to Iznogoud, Sidewalk and Bob Morane: Jungle 1. The action takes place on a small portion of the screen; exploring a series of static rooms that interconnect in multiple directions, Bob battles a bastion of besiegers: castle guards, mysterious shrouded dudes and (except in the Amstrad CPC version) huge, furry bears. Yes, the Yellow Shadow is not above manipulating omnivorous mammals for his nefarious purposes. Luckily, Bob can search for hidden objects and secret passages to achieve his goals, and if he perishes in action, a giant time bubble is ready to envelop him and return him to the starting point.
