Breathless

Breathless is a video game in the action genre developed by Fields of Vision and published by Power Computing Ltd. originally released in 1995. It is currently playable on Amiga.

In Breathless, the human race has been enslaved by evil alien overlords. But some rebel groups have not yet lost hope and fight against the oppressors. When one of them is captured, he is transformed into cyborgs and trapped in complicated mazes that function as arenas, where he has to fight for his honor and perhaps for his freedom.

Breathless is a first-person shooter game, in which the player has to go through several arenas infested with enemies that are out to get him. The player has a status screen at the bottom of the screen. It contains the current score, remaining health and shield, as well as energy and credits. Energy functions as a universal ammunition reserve, as each weapon depletes a certain amount. By collecting credits, the player can buy or upgrade weapons at the computer terminals.

The player's goal is to reach the exit of each of the 20 levels. However, there are often doors along the way that must be opened by finding the correct switches, or by getting certain key cards to advance through the maze.
