Camelot

Camelot is a video game in the action genre and published by Blue Ribbon Software Ltd. originally released in 1990. It is currently playable on BBC Micro.

In Camelot, the player assumes the role of a deposed king trying to prove his worthiness for the throne. The main objective of the game is to collect 3000 points by retrieving bags of gold scattered around the inverted screen castle in which the game takes place. Killing enemies also increases the score, although by a smaller amount.

The game consists of shooting, platforming and some puzzle elements. Fighting various creatures, such as witches and demons, is preferably done by shooting fireballs at them, of which there is a finite amount at the player's disposal. In addition to enemies, various hazards, such as puddles of water, can drain the player's energy and therefore must be avoided. It is possible to pick up and carry up to 5 different objects. Picking up a key, for example, can give access to a different area. The protagonist's only life is lost when all his energy is drained or the time limit runs out; however, both can be replenished throughout the game.
