Captain Kelly

Captain Kelly is a video game in the action genre and published by Quicksilva Ltd. originally released in 1986. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

You are Captain Kelly, a space delivery man who travels the universe delivering packages, an easy enough job until you came across the ship, Obsidian 2. Normally a code would shut down security and return control to the pilot, but today the code was not working and you made the mistake of entering the ship and now you cannot get out and the security robots will try to kill you if they discover you. You must explore and destroy a set number of robots in each of the seven levels of the ship before you enter the Main Control Room and gain full control of the ship.

The game is a top view maze and the screen scrolls as you move. As you move through each level there are robot guards and you can shoot them with your gun, but it has limited ammunition. If you touch a robot or get shot, you lose some of your energy and you also have a limited supply of oxygen that counts down and if your energy or oxygen runs out, the game ends. Scattered throughout the different levels are places and objects that increase your energy, oxygen or ammunition with teleports that take you to other levels of the ship. The terminals used will inform you of your progress, as well as the number of robots you must destroy in each level.

Once you destroy the last robot needed in each level, everything in that level will be turned off, including the items needed to increase your energy, oxygen and ammunition, but the teleports still work. When all the necessary robots are destroyed, you can enter the Master Control Room and attempt to power up two satellites within a time limit to complete the game. A joystick is used to control your hero.
