In Catcha Snatch, the player assumes the role of store detective Barney Bootlace. He walks around the store, which is represented by a top-down display, to do his job: guiding lost children back to their mother, taking lost items to the lost and found office, catching thieves, and getting bombs out the door. Practically this boils down to touching the object/person in question and walking to their destination.
Barney's success is measured by his boss's approval from 0 to 99% Approval increases when Barney manages to handle an issue correctly and decreases when he misses something. If he reaches 99%, Barney moves up to the next level (and higher difficulty); however, a demotion and a written warning follow directly after dropping to 0%. After three warnings the game is over, but one warning is removed for advancing two levels.
