Chemicus: Journey to the Other Side is a video game in the educational genre developed by BVM Produktion GmbH and published by HEUREKA-Klett Softwareverlag GmbH originally released in 2001. It is currently playable on Windows.
This first-person point-and-click adventure game is a lot like 'Myst' and 'Riven'. Richard, a chemistry lover, unknowingly finds an entrance to the mysterious city of Chemicus and sets foot inside. Strangers in white hoods catch him and lock him up in the city, accusing him of trespassing and stealing the 'transmission molecules' that protect their precious energy source. As Richard's friend, you take to the streets to rescue him.
In the 3D world, you explore different locations, find and use many objects, and solve problems and puzzles. All the puzzles are based on the fundamentals of chemistry, and you can find help on this in the documents you find during your exploration and in the game's scientific database. The educational value of this game has been well received by science teachers, students and adventure gamers.
