Description Classic Trainer

Classic Trainer allows you to own five horses and run them over several seasons with the goal of winning the Derby at the end of each season. Each season lasts 20 weeks with a choice of three races at a meeting each week if you decide to run a horse. You start the game with £5000 and before a meeting you have several options for your horses and yourself that cost you money which are to give them training, treat injuries, get a loaner and retain a jockey. Once you are satisfied with your selections, you will be shown your horses and their fitness, class and racing statistics, you also have the option to sell a horse.

After viewing your horses you are shown the next meeting where you can select a horse and race it in one of the races, with the option to bet on the horse. The early stages of the games is trying to figure out the best distance for each horse to race. There is no race animation, just a picture of a race as you work out the result before the result is shown and then your weekly expenses. Throughout the weeks you continue to train and race your horses and at the end of the season, in week 20, you can decide whether to enter them in the Derby by remembering the costs of competing in the race. If you go broke, it's game over.
