Combat Checkers

Combat Checkers is a video game in the strategy genre originally released in 1991. It is currently playable on DOS.

Combat Checkers is a variant of American checkers, with one or two player mode, but where the pieces have RPG features to calculate the outcome of the moves.

The checkers pieces are represented as individuals with weapons and armor, which you can buy at the beginning of the game, and equip each piece differently.

In addition, individuals belong to a selectable 'race', such as humans, elves, robots and ogres, with different initial strength and stamina values.

When jumping over the opponent's pieces, the respective piece does 'battle' using the attack/defense values to choose the outcome.

The computer can play with a predefined set of pieces, equipped by the human player, or it can use its own selection, which makes it difficult for the player.

The player can set up and save various piece/equipment configurations for use in other games, or play with a predefined set.
