Description Command Performance

Released in 1988, the ZX Spectrum game Command Performance was a unique and highly engaging title. Developed by the Scottish-based software house Mastertronic, it was the first of their games to be released on the Spectrum platform.

Command Performance put players in the role of a touring rock musician, who had to navigate their way through a series of gigs while trying to maintain their fame and reputation. The game included a variety of features, from the ability to customise the band's set list and equipment, to the use of a ‘roadie’ to help perform the gigs.

The game’s visuals were impressively detailed for the time, with a large variety of locations to choose from. Players had to select venues to play in, could manage their band's finances, and had to deal with the media and their fans. The game also included a few mini-games, such as a car racing game and a music game.

The game was well received by critics and gamers alike, with its engaging gameplay and detailed visuals being praised. It had a relatively long shelf life, and was re-released a few years later with some updates and extra features. Command Performance was one of the first ZX Spectrum games to feature a detailed story and immersive gameplay, and set a high standard for future releases.
