Cosmo Ranger: S. O. L. AD 2000 is a sci-fi, elevator side-scrolling action game.
The core of the game is primarily about making your way through the decks of each of the three main levels of a space station, negotiating hostile automatons with your trusty laser blaster. Station access hatches can be searched, and provide useful items such as extra health, oxygen or laser ammunition. The main objective in each of the three levels is to reactivate all the computer security panels.
Sometimes, during the game, the station may be attacked by an armada of alien warships. In that case, you must find the on-board teleport system on that level to transport to the tactical station to man the defenses and neutralize the threat. This part of the game is played from the first-person perspective.
