County Cricket

County Cricket is a video game in the sports genre and published by D&H Games originally released in 1989. It is currently playable on Commodore 64.

County Cricket gives you the opportunity to manage an English County Cricket team for several seasons trying to win the title and cups. Unlike normal County Cricket, where matches last a couple of days, the matches are limited overs matches that you can select from 40 to 60 overs. After viewing the schedule and your next match, you are presented with a number of options to help you win the game. You can select your team from a squad of players, coach the team in various aspects of the game and finally see the youth team players ready to make the step up to the men's team. Once you are satisfied with your selection, decide heads or tails whether you are going to bat or bowl.

If you are going to bowl, select one of your bowlers to bowl and decide how aggressive or defensive your fielding is. When you bat, you decide how aggressive or defensive the batsman should bowl. The match itself shows you all the balls played and how the game is progressing, and you can make tactical changes after each over. Once the match is over and the result has been given, you prepare for the next match.
