Creature Create

Creature Create is a video game in the educational genre developed by LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. and published by LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. originally released in 2007. It is currently playable on Leapster.

From a classic game aimed at preschoolers to an interactive handheld learning device, the Leapster contributed to the growing educational gaming space. In 2007, in keeping with the trend, the Leapster introduced an exciting new game to its library called Creature Create.

At its core, Creature Create is a game about building and exploring. The player begins by getting to choose their own pet creature. This adorable 2D character is completely customizable; from its eye color to its fur pattern, the player has complete control over its appearance. After finalizing the design process, the player then gets to spend some time training and caring for the pet. This section of the game lets the player take part in activities like playing chase and answering educational math and literacy games.

Exploration is also a big part in Creature Create as players get to navigate an expansive virtual world. This world contains many interesting locations and activities, some of which helps the creatures level up. It is also in this world where players can visit other creatures and interact with them. Trading items, listening to music, and playing games are just some of the few available to them.

The aim of Creature Create is more than just to have fun, though. As the player goes through the game, they would be able to collect collectibles called "shards" and "gems". These items serve as rewards for being able to complete certain tasks and can be used to purchase new items in the virtual store. It also goes hand in hand with the educational aspect on the game as it tests the player's reading and math problems.

Leapster's Creature Create is a fun and engaging way for preschoolers to learn and expand their imagination. With plenty of fun activities, adorable creatures, and educational challenges to pursue, it truly stands out among the many educational titles in the Leapster library.
