Dreamforge's first game, Event Horizon, is a solid RPG that skillfully combines real-time action and physical puzzles (e. g. , traps, switches) with traditional role-playing. The plot, which includes arcane artifacts and the usual setting of large monsters out to destroy the world, starts out cliché (you are chosen to enter DarkSpyre, a fortress of evil) and quickly picks up pace. It's a good game, with an innovative story-driven character creation system that would become Dreamforge's hallmark in subsequent RPGs.
