Sraz

DOS 1993
Credited as the first Croatian computer game, Sraz (loosely translated as Clash) involves two to four players answering questions along tiles on a board. Each tile is assigned to questions from one of the following fields: sports, history, geography, nature, music, general knowledge, art and science, while some tiles are marked as 'random', meaning that a question from any of the other eight fields may appear. When a question is answered correctly, the player's tile moves to that square. If not, it stays where it is. When five correct answers have been given with an individual peg, the peg moves up in rank, which means that it can attempt to visit an additional tile for each rank. There are three ranks: servant (default), soldier and knight. A peg can enter a square occupied by another player's peg. If two questions are answered correctly, the attacking peg moves up in rank and the opponent's peg is pushed to a free adjacent square and one rank is taken away. If it is already a servant, it is removed from the board. However, if the attacking peg answers incorrectly to any of the questions, one rank is removed (unless he is already a minion). A player's turn ends when all tiles adjacent to free tiles have been moved or after a completed battle (regardless of the outcome). The object of the game is to demonstrate the player's knowledge by advancing far enough to eliminate all opponent's checkers and reach all opponent's flags located at the corners of the board. The game has a total pool of 1000 questions.
