Monster is a real-time action game with RPG elements developed and released by an independent developer WorldForge in 2005. Players can create their own characters and level-up by slaying hordes of monsters and conquering stages.
Gameplay for Monster is fast-paced and requires players to utilize different strategies to defeat their enemies. Players can form teams of up to four to battle monsters, or attempt to face them alone. In addition to basic combat, there are also quests and special challenges in which players must strategically navigate their way through levels. Playing in teams helps players increase their chances of success since they can combine different characters’ skills and abilities.
The game is divided into stages that vary in size and difficulty. Most stages require players to complete certain objectives before being able to proceed. Objectives can range from clearing out specific areas of monsters to retrieving specific items or slaying certain monsters. Each stage is filled with hazards, which can make clearing them more difficult.
Monster gives players a choice of nine different character classes, each of which has its own strengths and weaknesses. Characters can choose from standard classes like mages, warriors, and druids or focus on one specific path such as dark knight or dragon hunter. Each character can also equip weapons and armor as well as enhancing their stats with rings and charms.
The graphics of Monster are quite detailed and give the game a unique feel. The music and sound effects provide an exciting experience and add atmosphere to the game. While Monster may not be the most sophisticated of all games out there, it certainly will provide an enjoyable gaming experience.
