ABPA Backgammon

ABPA Backgammon is identical to the board game. Backgammon is a game played by two players (the computer can be one of the players). Each player has 15 pieces. The object of the game is to be the first to move all of your pieces completely around and eventually off the board. Moving your pieces off the board is called 'bearing off'. The first player to get all their pieces off is the winner. Each player moves in one direction, starting at his opponent's table and moving to his own table. Thus, one player always moves clockwise and the other always counterclockwise. You can play against the computer at two skill levels - one for beginners or intermediates, one for experts - or two players can compete against each other. Adventures of TRON

Released in 1983, Adventures of TRON was an action-packed video game for the legendary Atari 2600 console. It was based on the hit Disney sci-fi movie of the same name and captured the hearts and minds of gamers with its exciting gameplay and stunning graphics. Set in the digital world of TRON, players took on the role of the fearless main character, Kevin Flynn, as he fought against the evil Master Control Program (MCP). Armed with his trusty disc, players had to navigate through a series of digital mazes, battling against the MCP’s minions and ultimately defeating the villain to restore peace to the network. One of the key aspects of Adventures of TRON that made it stand out was its graphics. For a game released in 1983, the graphics were truly impressive. The iconic neon colors and sleek designs of the digital world were brought to life on the Atari 2600, immersing players in the TRON universe. The game also featured impressive animation that was fluid and added to the overall futuristic feel of the game. In addition to the stunning graphics, Adventures of TRON also had a captivating gameplay experience. The digital mazes were challenging, forcing players to use their wits and quick reflexes to outmaneuver the enemy. The game also featured a variety of enemies, each with their own unique abilities and attack patterns, keeping players on their toes and adding an extra layer of excitement to the game. Adventures of TRON also utilized the Atari 2600’s controller to its full potential. Players had control over both Kevin Flynn's movements and the trajectory of his disc, making for a more dynamic and engaging experience. The controls were responsive and easy to learn, making the game accessible to players of all ages and skill levels. The game also had a multiplayer feature, allowing players to compete against each other or team up to take on the MCP together. This added a whole new level of fun and camaraderie to the game, as players could strategize and work together to defeat their opponents.

Armor Battle

Armor Ambush (also known as Armor Battle) is a game for two players, where each player is in command of two tanks (one at a time), and must try to destroy each other. The battlefields are constantly changing, so no two battles are the same. Tanks move at medium speed on grass, fast on roads, slow through trees, and slower through water. Tanks explode after three direct hits. Harder game mode adds ricochet shots.

Auto Racing

Auto Racing is a racing game for one or two players that puts the player behind the wheel of one of five cars, each with different specialties. The player can race on five different fairly large tracks. In the single player game, the player races against the clock to finish five laps as fast as possible. In the two-player game, the player can race with a friend and earn points if the opponent crashes or if one is far enough ahead to reach the edge of the screen.

Boxing

Two contestants fight for 15 rounds with punches to the body, feints and hard blows to the head. The victory is decided by points, assigned by the computer (the referee), otherwise the fight ends with a KO. Each round lasts 1 minute and 30 seconds.2 players can choose their boxer (but not the same one) from a rose of six men with different characteristics (speed, offensive power, stamina). The number six is unpredictable.

Checkers

Checkers is a conversion of the board game. Two players can challenge each other, or one player can take on the computer. The game features several skill levels, a 'rescue' option that allows the computer to suggest a move, the ability to take back a move, and the option to allow yourself or the computer to move first.

Frog Bog

You control one of two frogs sitting on a water lily in a swamp. The object of the game is to eat as many flies as you can in the time limit of three minutes. Your frog can jump from one side of the two water lilies to the other to catch the flies that pass over them. When jumping, be careful not to fall into the water or your frog will have to swim back to the lily pad, which can waste time. In the Intellivision version, the game can be played day or night, which makes it harder to see the flies. In the Atari 2600 version, the game is only played during the day, and when the sun sets, the game is over. At the end of the time limit, the player who has eaten the most flies wins. A player can compete against a computer-controlled frog, or two players against each other.

Horse Racing

This game is for 1 to 6 players. When the game starts, you can place bets, for the winner or for the first and second place. Then you can choose whether a horse should be driven by a player or by the CPU. Only the third and fourth horses can be driven by players. There are 3 types of terrain: grass, mud or dry. When the race starts, the horses are faster at the beginning and slower towards the end. They are differentiated by speed at the starting gate, endurance, speed on the straight and by speed with the different terrain conditions of the race. You (and the CPU too!) have the whip and the gear to spur a horse, and these tools could be useful to win a race even with a more tired horse.
