Blockhead

Amiga 1997
Blockhead is a puzzle game similar to Sokoban. The player controls a character named Bertie from a top-down perspective who has to push and pull boxes into their holes. Once all the boxes have been placed correctly an exit opens up which Bertie has to reach to finish the level and move on to the next one. The game is timed. On the right side of the screen is a character named Petrified Pete who has a 16 ton weight falling on top of him. The player has to complete the level before the weight crushes Pete. If he fails to do so, he will lose a life and will have to restart the current level. As the weight falls, it changes from gold to silver to bronze. The higher your value is when you complete the level, the more points you will earn. Another way to earn extra points is to collect fruit (bananas, apples, oranges) and hidden jewels scattered throughout the levels. The blocks can have different colors and you have to push them into the holes of the same color. Some levels have dynamite which is needed to blow up certain walls.

Blockhead 2

Amiga 1998
Blockhead 2 is visually similar to its predecessor, but the gameplay is slightly different. The game is played from a top-down perspective, but it is not based on Sokoban, so there is some jostling. The goal of each level is to collect some ingredients and put them in a cauldron of magical concoctions. Materials can be picked up one at a time and carried to the pot, or they can be collected by pushing and pulling the pot over the materials. There are four types of materials, each with different properties. There are harmless green berries, poisonous mushrooms that decrease the player's energy points when carried, magic powders that speed up time when carried, and death skulls that kill the player when picked up by hand. The player can also lose a life by running out of energy or time. In addition to materials, the player will also encounter traps and objects. Items include an axe that can destroy barricades, dynamite that can destroy walls, and a magic wand that teleports pots and players to the map.
