3D Space Fighter

DOS 1999
D Space Fighter is a vertical scrolling shooter game with high-resolution pre-rendered graphics. According to the storyline, in the early 21st century, mankind finally came into contact with sentient extraterrestrial life, but the aliens turned out to be hostile. Although the alien fleets had been detected from afar, Earth was unprepared and the first attack crippled the planet's defenses. However, the humans unified their efforts and created a spacecraft strong enough to take on the enemy fleet, codenamed Sigma Terminus. It is this ship that the player pilots in the game, with the mission of eliminating the threat of the alien invaders. The gameplay consists of flying forward (vertically upwards) and shooting at waves of advancing enemy ships with different configurations and flying in various patterns. From time to time, spheres containing power-ups appear on the screen, which after being destroyed drop their contents for the player to pick up. These provide ammunition for secondary weapons, shields and other typical upgrades. The player must watch out for other obstacles, such as asteroids, which can get in the way of the ship. The player's ship can withstand several hits from enemy shots and impacts, but shields do not regenerate. Each level ends with a boss battle. D Space Fighter was marketed as shareware, with the unregistered version limited to five minutes of gameplay (per session). Registered users received a registration code to convert the shareware version to the full version without limitations.
