From the days of combat sailing comes this high seas combat game.
Although produced very early in the PC era (1988), Ralph Bosson's High Seas operates from a graphical deck view, resorting to a chart view only for position checks (which can be important in fleet engagements). It operates in 10-minute game turns or in interrupt mode to issue orders. Models the effects of wind on maneuvers and the effects of different types of ammunition against the wooden walls and sails of opposing ships. A very advanced feature included is a scenario designer.
The game can be played hot or with a computer opponent.
