Astro 2000
Astro 2000 is a game inspired by Asteroids with some extensions on the original game. The player controls a small spaceship, and can rotate it and move around the fixed screen. Upon reaching an edge, the ship reappears on the opposite side. The asteroids from the original are still there, but in sphere form. When you shoot the larger spheres, they split into several smaller, often faster moving ones. The larger asteroids require several hits until they explode. Luckily, if the player's ship is hit, one of the four lives is not instantly lost, but only some energy is drained, which can be replenished by an extra, which appears randomly as a collectible. Other extras reward with a shield, which makes your ship immune to collisions with enemies, or freeze all movements of asteroids for a short period of time, making it easier to eliminate them.
