Almazz

In this arcade adventure you embody an explorer who must search an African savannah of 1700 multi-scrolling screens to find the diamond Almazz before the end of a 40-day time limit. Your hero always moves in walking mode, which keeps your body temperature at a cool level shown on a gauge. You have the ability to run, but this causes the gauge to fill up and when it is full it is game over, but walking decreases the gauge slowly. You also have a canteen that you can drink from, but the water meter starts to empty when you drink, but there are puddles of water to refill it. As you explore you will encounter natives and lions who will try to kill you. The natives only walk but throw spears and the lions walk but run away when they sense your presence. If you are attacked by a lion or hit by a spear, it's game over and you will have to start the quest over. You are armed with a pistol, but limited to six bullets. There are huts scattered around the terrain and entering them gets you more bullets, but you lose an hour of the day for every bullet you get hit. Objects and puzzles can be found to help you and you also have to find the pieces of a tablet displayed below the play area. Once you find the diamond, you have to solve a puzzle.
