Cloud Kingdoms
Baron von Bansai has stolen Terry's prized collection of crystals, and dropped them in 32 different realms, so Terry sets out to retrieve them. Seen from above, your challenge is to progress through these worlds, collecting keys to access different sections and avoiding balls and enemy bugs by jumping on them when possible. There are no 'lives' as such, but there is a strict time limit of about 400 seconds for the entire game, and death returns you to the beginning of the level, with the time lost as well. However, you get an extra 80 seconds for completing each level.
The levels have all sorts of additional hazards: there are holes in the ground to avoid falling through (some visible, some hidden), arrows that force the ball to follow a certain direction, slippery squares that make the effect of any movement exaggerated, magnetized squares from which it is impossible to jump, and many more. Fortunately, in the levels also fall, at random intervals, many power-ups, time boosts and bonus fruits.
To complete the game you have to pass 8 levels, and the structure is not linear: at the beginning you can choose between 4 levels, and after completing one of them you can choose between 4 more levels (which are different depending on the level you completed first). The third and fourth levels you face as you progress through the game are chosen from 3, the fifth and sixth from two, and only those last two levels are prescriptive (although they vary depending on the levels you've already done).
Each of the 32 worlds has its own quirk: the Arrow Realm has a lot of arrows directing you, the Ice Realm is especially slippery, the Invisible Realm lets you figure out the route yourself (aside from the holes, which are all you can see), the Box Realm involves a lot of flying over some trapped squares to grab the keys they contain before making the main jumps to sections containing crystals, etc.
Enlightenment
One hundred years after Hasrinaxx the Druid defeated the evil Acamantor, his nemesis has returned, and although he is now older and has lost his Druid status after experimenting with the black arts, he feels worthy of banishing this terrible foe.
The game uses a forced top-down perspective, and is much like Gauntlet in the way Hasrinaxx moves, shoots, avoids enemies, and collects health items.
However, the spell system is more complex. Thirty-two spells can be collected and used, including a fire shield that lets you pass through burning areas, walls of water and fire to attack immediate enemies, a deathlight to clear the area of enemies, and a teleport. You can also summon one of 4 elemental beings, which you can control simultaneously to attack creatures for you. You can only carry 8 spells at a time, but you can drop them and pick them up again later.
