Ramparts
Not to be confused with Atari Games' Rampart, Ramparts is, in fact, a clone of Bally Midways' Rampage, but with a medieval theme, and the players are giant knights rather than monsters. The game is for one or two players simultaneously, and each player has the opportunity to enter a five-character name before starting play, which will subsequently be displayed alongside individual scores during the game.
The game is played on a single screen, where the player or players can move left and right in the foreground, and the objective is to destroy a castle, in each phase, by climbing and hitting individual buildings until each, and all, collapse. Buildings often overlap, forcing you to take down some before others. Players will be harassed by witches, goblins, archers and the like.
The backstory concerns two knights, Sir Griswold and Sir Larkin, who have suffered a curse that has transformed them into giants by the Evil One, and they must seek out the demon so they can return to being mere mortals.
