iF-22

Windows 1997
In the late 1990s, the world of PC gaming was filled with a plethora of titles vying for attention, each promising to deliver a unique and thrilling experience. One such title that stood out from the crowd was iF-22, released in 1997 by Electronic Arts. Developed by the talented team at Novalogic, iF-22 was a flight simulator game that allowed players to take control of the iconic F-22 Raptor fighter jet. From the moment the game hit the market, it received critical acclaim for its stunning graphics, realistic flight mechanics, and engaging gameplay. The game was set in a fictional world where the player takes on the role of a skilled pilot tasked with completing various missions and objectives. These missions ranged from reconnaissance and combat to navigation and air-to-air refueling. The attention to detail in iF-22 was impressive, with each mission requiring players to adhere to real-world tactics and protocols. One of the most praised aspects of iF-22 was its graphics. The game utilized a combination of 3D graphics and advanced terrain mapping technology to create a visually immersive experience. From the cockpit view to the detailed landscapes, every element of the game was beautifully rendered, making players feel like they were truly in the cockpit of an F-22. The sound effects also added to the realism, with roaring jet engines and explosive sound effects that heightened the intensity of the gameplay. iF-22 also boasted a robust multiplayer mode, allowing players to engage in aerial combat with others around the world. This added a competitive element to the game, with players striving to outdo each other in skill and strategy. The game also featured a dynamic campaign mode, where the player's success or failure in missions would impact the overall narrative and outcomes. Apart from its technical aspects, iF-22 also had an engrossing storyline that kept players engaged throughout the game. The campaign mode took players on a journey through a war-torn world, with a gripping storyline and unexpected plot twists. The game also featured a variety of unlockable content, including new planes, missions, and upgrades, keeping players coming back for more.

Star Rangers

DOS 1995
The first game developed in-house by the now-defunct Interactive Magic is an outstanding space combat/strategy game that truly recaptures the intensity and excitement of the classic Atari 2600 game Star Raiders. In each of the 17 missions, you'll engage in furious combat and, as in Star Raiders, you'll control overall strategic decisions, such as ordering your wingmen to engage enemies elsewhere or to return to base. You'll have to constantly consult the strategic map to plan attack strategy. The graphics and animations are also excellent. Highly recommended.
