Narcissus

Amiga 1989
Narcissus is a 2D side-scrolling platformer, similar to Contra. The player controls a long-haired, commando-type guy with a gun, who has landed on a strange planet. He advances and fights many strange creatures and robots. He has a pistol with unlimited ammo (but can only shoot straight). Standard bosses await at the end of the levels. The game has many 'leaps of faith' - often the hero must jump without being able to look down. The game has no recovery time - several enemies in a row can kill the player almost instantly. The hero collects special blue balls for points.

Sci-Fi

Amiga 1989
1989, the year Sci-Fi was released on Amiga. Made by Light Source Productions and published by Digital Magic Software Ltd., this action game is available for free on this page.

ShockWave

Amiga 1990
ShockWave is an action game with strategy elements. The player is in control of a large prison complex that is basically a medium-sized country. Unfortunately, alien forces attack and must be repelled, more precisely ten attack waves of increasing strength. The game is played in two phases: strategy and action. The strategy is played on a turn-based map on which the four parts of the colony appear: the mountains with mines produce money, the sea with oil platforms produces fuel, the jungle with army units slows down the enemy and the desert with factories produces upgrades for weapons. With the money earned in the mines, the player can construct additional buildings in the colony areas, which in turn are more efficient in their production. After each turn the aliens proceed with their invasion: the productivity of a sector is reduced according to the percentage that is occupied by the enemy. In each round, the player can personally initiate a counterattack in one of the four zones. After choosing weapons, a certain number of alien ships must be killed before the fuel runs out (basically a time limit). It is important to keep an eye on the shield level, which is reduced by being hit by enemies or crashing into the environment: a kill is an instant game over. Occasionally, the player can also participate in secret missions in which a drone equipped with explosives has to be steered through an obstacle course (the target is an enemy base). Action sequences are shown in third-person perspective (the camera is directly behind the craft) and are controlled entirely with the mouse cursor, which controls both where the weapon is pointed and where the spacecraft is headed. There is also a time of day (morning, afternoon, evening, night and night) that changes the graphics during action sequences. The time of day changes at the end of a round.
