Dark Side
In Driller, the Ketar tried to blow up the moon Mitral, but you stopped them. Now, they have energy-harvesting devices collectively known as ECDs, and they hope to store them for use against the Zephyr One device, and direct their energy towards the planet Evath, causing a catastrophic radiation overload.
Your mission is to transport to their base on the moon Tricuspid and destroy the ECDs. Destroying one of them will buy you more of your limited time. The problem is that many are connected to at least two others, and these can regenerate immediately, so you must attack them in an order in which the ones with only one connection are attacked first.
You are inside a spacesuit, powered by a Jet Pack with limited fuel, and you possess lasers and a shield. The shield's energy is limited, but can be recharged by pentagons and rods. In a world viewed through the Freescape 3D system, you traverse the green planet of trees, buildings and subway tunnels.
The gameplay in Dark Side has more action than its predecessor, Driller. The world of Freescape has a third dimension: thanks to the jetpack you can leave the ground and look down. You can also rotate the angle, change the length of your steps, make quick U-turns and look up or down. The jetpack consumes energy at high speed, so use this feature sparingly. You should avoid security turrets called Plexors, which shoot lasers and weaken your shield, and deflector devices, which can send you to jail.
