PC-Fun

DOS 1985
This shareware package includes a trio of arcade-style games: Catch a Falling Star: those darned astral bodies just keep falling from the sky, and in your backyard no less; as if the stars weren't enough, comets are on the loose too. So you grab your trusty wooden basket and try to catch them all; if you miss three, it's game over. Killer bees: you're threatened by swarms of..... actually, you can guess. In each wave, you have to get five of the buzzing enemies in your crosshairs and fry them with your pair of lasers. Despite the title, the bees themselves are perfectly harmless; it's the energy drain that can finish you off: they deplete faster with each successive wave, and shooting also consumes energy. You can choose a difficulty from 1 to 10, which determines the wave you start on. Cosmic Crisis: another shooter, which tasks you with repelling an endless succession of alien invaders, though they don't do much more than fly harmlessly through the starry sky. Attacking an ordinary fighter gets you 50 points, and the fastest starships are worth 500. Here too time is limited by your fuel reserves, but if you do well enough you'll have your tank topped up when you run out.
