Action Sports Soccer

DOS 1992
The designer of excellent sports simulations broke the mold with this rare arcade-oriented soccer game. Choose from many European teams and compete in well-known events such as the UEFA Cup. The game offers standard options like formation choice and substitution, but as an arcade-oriented game it doesn't measure up to its competition. It's only good for a quick diversion.

Micro League Fantasy Manager Baseball Edition

DOS 1991
This is not really a game, but rather a utility for creating and managing a fantasy league and its schedules. There is no game option, just a device for creating fantasy leagues. If you really have a need for this sort of thing, all I can say about it is that it's easy to use. Otherwise, it's not worth your time. I rate it a 2 out of 5.

Micro League Football

DOS 1991
Micro League Football is one of the real top picks in the sports genre. The game is very easy to play thanks to the simple menu interface and very good use of the mouse. Even with its rough graphics, the game was very easy to play and the execution of the plays was very realistic. They give you a selection of teams from the past like the 1960 Green Bay Packers, 1984 49ers, 1960 Eagles, etc. And with data discs that could be purchased separately, you could create leagues of any team you had the stats and season schedules for, and dump your stats into the printer. The game is based on the skills of real players, so if you have the 49ers you can let Montana tear a team apart with his deadly passing game, or if your team is Cleveland, Jim Brown can subdue a team with his running power. You can choose the stadium, weather conditions and substitutes for your bench. Injuries, fatigue, weather conditions and home field advantage are all factors that greatly influence the game. If you are really lazy, you can put every coach on computer control and sit back and watch the game. It's a very good game for its time. I rate them a 4 out of 5. They are a must have if you like collecting soccer games. Don't miss the second one Micro League Football, with updated graphics and sound.

Micro League Wrestling 2

DOS 1989
One of the best wrestling games ever created, Micro League Wrestling 2 features real WWF stars like Hulk Hogan and some of the WWF's greatest competitors. Each wrestler's famous moves are here and look very authentic, such as the Hulkster's body slam and fatal leg drop. The graphics, while grainy, are adequate, and the digitized photos of the wrestlers and their moves work well to enhance the atmosphere. Here's a chance to play with Randy 'Macho Man' Savage and Paul 'Mr. Wonderful' Orndorff. True to Micro League's pedigree as a developer of solid sports simulators, MLW 2 is not a game of hand-eye coordination. You have to carefully plan your moves and control factors such as power and damage in every fight. The game even includes many 'extras' that will please wrestling fans, such as live interviews with 'Mean Gene' Okerlund, and in-ring commentary from Vince McMahon and Jesse 'The Body' Ventura. WWF fans will definitely enjoy this trip back in time, as many of the WWF wrestlers from the late 80's appear in this game. You can even play against a friend in two-player mode. With authentic moves, competent AI and a great atmosphere, MLW 2 is a must-have game for all wrestling fans. Highly recommended.
