Khantun is a traditionally peaceful land, with no army and no wars. The former leader Kaimen has turned to using his powers for evil, and the land has not withstood his aggression. The Saints have been kidnapped and the land is ruled by a group of evil monks. The player must defeat Kaimen and restore the path of justice.
The game combines top-down role-playing elements with combat action. The player explores the land, but when he encounters unfriendly people he must fight, using swords or martial arts moves, as well as long-range missiles and magical powers.
The Dark Queen of Krynn is the latest part of the Dragonlance RPG series using the standard game engine of the Goldbox series (with slight improvements).

Death Knights of Krynn characters can be transferred.
