BassTour
BassTour is, as the name suggests, a fishing game. It is the brainchild of Richard Olsen, who developed Bass Class and BassDuel. In total, BassTour supports up to fifty different lakes that can be purchased as stand-alone products. Nels Anderson, listed among the credits, also developed BassMap, a shareware utility that could be used to create new lake maps.
BassTour has three difficulty levels Novice, Intermediate and Pro, plus a practice mode. In the game, the objective is to catch as many fish as possible in a three-day tournament, gaining the most weight. The player fishes during a six-hour session each day, in game time, not real time, and all catches must be weighed before the end of the day, if they are not weighed all that work is not credited. In addition, players must manage fuel and battery to avoid getting stranded in the lake and select the right rod and bait for the environment.
To help the fisherwoman is given a boat equipped with an engine, a fixed amount of fuel, a chart recorder, rod and tackle boxes, etc. The player can fish in six different lakes in the basic version of the game and the computer places the fish in realistic locations according to the topography of the lake. The game also features some thirty 'big names in bass tournament fishing' as opponents.
