Generations Lost is an action platformer in which the player takes the role of Monobe, an adventurer in search of his village's past. Thanks to his magical armor, Monobe is able to execute many different moves. In addition to running and jumping, Monobe can roll on the ground, strike with his hands and feet, and shoot energy balls. With the help of an energy rope, Monobe can swing from platform to platform.
Most of the time, Monobe has to solve various puzzles, find secret switches and survive deadly traps. The game is divided into six areas that can be accessed through the 'Magic Box' teleporter.
