Etrom: The Astral Essence
Etrom: The Astral Essence is a Windows game that came out in 2006. The game was developed by MagicIndie Softworks, a studio that specializes in creating games that cultivate players' creativity. A storyline guides the player through interesting places and introduces them to various creatures and environments.
The game begins in the fictional lost city of Raphael, where the player is introduced to two main characters, Etrom and Mortal. Etrom is the player’s guide who brings the player on a journey that involves exploration, puzzle-solving and combat. The game’s story follows the player as they attempt to unlock the secrets of Raphael and the Astral dimension it is set in.
Gameplay wise, Etrom: The Astral Essence combines elements from a range of genres, and players are able to explore, fight and solve puzzles. Real-time combat features an interesting weapon system that allows players to customize their weaponry. When they aren’t engaged in combat, players must rely on their intuition to solve some tricky puzzles. The difficulty level gradually increases as the game progresses, with more challenging tasks appearing “just around the corner”.
One of the game’s key features is the 3D graphics, which allow for a truly immersive experience. From the beginning, the player is thrown into a stunning world of excellent visuals and sounds that make the game a pleasure to play. Cut-scenes and dialogue have been handled well, and add some depth to the game’s storyline.
Etrom: The Astral Essence strives to offer an enjoyable experience with outstanding visuals, excellent combat elements, and puzzles that challenge the mind while still allowing for some moments of pure exploration. The game was well-received upon its release and is still worth checking out today for those who appreciate a good story and action-packed gameplay.
