RG97 is a tennis game with 3D characters. The game takes its name from a famous French real tennis tournament, but the characters of the game are invented. You can choose between 10 different men, 7 women or 3 futuristic players.
You can play on 5 courts (two are hidden and have to be unlocked) which are Roland Garros (France), England, USA. Australia and Power Dome (a futuristic one).
You can play singles or doubles matches, and you can choose between 3 difficulty levels. The four game modes are: single match, net, friendly match and tournament, and you can choose the camera angle to play (see screenshots).
In the official game of the Roland Garros tennis tournament, the player has the option to play single matches (with a choice of male or female players, singles or doubles and number of sets) on four types of courts (hard, concrete, grass and synthetic) in different locations around the world, from the Grand Slam courts of Paris, London and New York to a beach paradise. There is also a full season mode in which players choose 10 of the included tournaments and play for cash and points, hoping to reach the top spot.
The gameplay is what you might expect from a tennis game: two buttons, one to perform a slice shot and one to perform a top spin. The direction of the ball is controlled by the time between the player pressing the button and hitting the ball. Each type of court affects the ball differently, so mastering both the baseline and the net is important in tournaments.
