Crazy Cows

DOS 1998
Crazy Cows is a strategy game very similar to the turn-based combat modes introduced by games such as Jagged Alliance or X-Com, although less complex. The game itself consists of a large battlefield pitting two teams against each other: the Grey Cows and the Brown Cows. Each team must fight for victory until the last cow wins. Each team has a number of cows that will fight for the cause. The teams have no advantages or disadvantages and differ only by color, as in chess. The battlefield map, in addition to the two herds, also consists of scattered weapons: a katana sword or a shotgun and various terrains. However, the battlefield map also introduced the fog of war, in which both team players must search the gray areas to get line of sight. Once the gray areas are explored, they stay that way. The game is divided into two main modes, movement and combat. Movement consists of moving the cow according to the Movement Points (MU). While moving, the cow can normally search and explore the battlefield to find enemies and weapons, as well as pick up weapons, which is done automatically by moving to the square where the weapon is assigned. A cow that picks up a katana (melee) automatically becomes a Ninja Cow in a ninja outfit. A cow that picks up a shotgun becomes an Evil Cow with black glasses (ranged). Cows can also move to strategic squares to defend or attack. Combat depends on the weapon wielded by the cow. If the cow is a ninja, it must eventually get within range of the enemy cow, i.e. in an adjacent square. Shotgun cows can attack enemy cows from a distance within line of sight.
