The Immortal
Your old mentor Mordamir has disappeared, probably kidnapped. You're not quite sure where he might be, but a dungeon is always a good place to look, so you seek out the nearest one and dive into its depths. Beware: eight levels of traps and deadly enemies await you.
The Immortal is an isometric game with puzzle solving and action combat. You advance by encountering a hazard, dying, solving the problem and encountering the next hazard. To solve a level, you have to know its traps and patterns by heart. The puzzles range from simple avoidance of traps to the correct use of objects, which are collected in an inventory. From time to time, the game offers a special challenge. For example, you have to ride a magic carpet through a corridor full of fire traps, or ride a barrel in a subway river.
The dungeon is not empty: some friendly characters may have valuable information or trade items, nasty guys will attack. Fights are fought man-to-man on a special screen. Your opponent indicates his next attack a few seconds before executing it, so you have time to react properly. You can dodge to the left or right, as well as attack from these two directions. There is no save option in the game, but you can restart each level as many times as you want. Levels can be skipped by entering passwords.
