Battle Golfer Yui
Gil Hazard, president of the Hazard Foundation, is secretly Professor G, leader of the evil Dark Hazard organization. His goal is to dominate the world and, to do so, he plans to use the power of golf: the Battle Golfer project. Yui Mizuhara and Ran Ryuzaki are two ordinary high school girls who happen to be golf prodigies, making them prime candidates for the Battle Golfer project. They are kidnapped by Professor G, but are rescued by a mysterious man before they can come under his control. After escaping, Yui learns of a golf tournament organized by the Hazard Foundation and, suspecting more nefarious plans, secretly shows up at the tournament to stop it for good.
Battle Golfer Yui is a unique genre fusion between a golf game and a Japanese-style adventure game. The main adventure mode puts the player in the shoes of Yui, who competes in the Hazard Cup tournament. The player can interact with other characters on the course, and will have to defeat several different opponents in matches on oddly themed courses in order to advance. The system is fairly simple and quick; just choose a direction, a club, a spin, and hit the bar with the right timing to adjust the power of the shot. Each character also has special abilities to help you, but their use is limited. There is also a normal golf mode for one or two players, which is offered as stroke and match play.
