Warriors of Ras
Warriors of Ras is an Atari 8-bit game released in 1986 by Adventure International. This game was created by Robert Arnstein and is a mix of RPG and combat strategy. Players take on the role of Prince Ruari, the seventh child of the king of Rylos. The prince is tasked with saving the kingdom from an evil force who has cruelly taken over the land. To accomplish this goal, the prince must put together a team of heroes and Hejmiles to fight for him against the minions of Ras.
Players must lead their forces to victory, seeking out the lost treasures of the kingdom and, ultimately, the evil villain behind it all. Along the way, they will face numerous foes and strategic puzzles to overcome before they can reach their ultimate objective. Warriors of Ras is a single player game and offers varied difficulty levels to accommodate all players.
The game has a simplistic visual style and mainly relies on text to convey its story. This allows the game to focus more on the strategic elements of battle as the player moves their forces around an overhead map. Victory not only depends on the player’s ability to outmaneuver their enemies but also their skill in correctly spending the resources at hand.
