In Dr. Fruit the player takes the role of Dr. Falken who has been transformed into a strawberry. Now he has to dig in his garden in this variant of Mr. Fruit.
A level consists of soil, free places (usually arranged in a way) and fruits. To get to the next level, Dr. Falken has to collect all the fruits. If he can't (or doesn't want to) use the existing paths to reach them, he digs new paths in the ground. However, there are also enemies lurking in the field that are restricted to the free paths. You can get rid of an enemy by shooting him or by digging the ground under a rock so that it falls on his head.
